Some commentary on these local publishers

Greetings from Halifax

This series was first published by Albertype directly, and is one of the series that Albertype first handled before local merchants began publishing using Albertype’s postcard printing services.

Smith’s Book Store

Publisher listed as Smith’s Book Store, showing early scenes of Halifax. Note that the same card appears without the Smith’s Book Store imprint. It is likely Smith’s Book Store bought the line of The Albertype Co.’s line of Halifax cards for sale in their store.

Skillen’s Bookstore

Publisher listed as Skillen’s Book Store, showing scenes from St. Martins, NB. Note that these are example of hand-coloured cards, which followed the earlier monochrome cards released by Albertype.

Robson, Publisher

A numbered series featuring scenes of Windsor, Nova Scotia.
